What We Do
CLUB RALLIES

Kuranda Horse and Pony Club holds a rally every month from March to November. Dates are decided at the beginning of each year
Our rallies cover all disciplines for developing riders including:
-
dressage and combined training
-
showjumping and jumping equitation
-
gymkhana and sporting
-
mounted games
Rallies generally kick off with set-up at 8.00am ahead of gear check at 8.45am.

Riders will then split into groups and begin lessons. We will usually break for morning tea and theory before moving on to our next lessons which include practice for gymkhana and jumping.
Over the course of a year, at our rallies we also try to feature a series of guest instructors and speakers to provide our members with access to the broadest range of expertise. Examples include interactive instruction on horse and pony nutrition, saddle fitting and gear selection, and equine dentistry.

We also hold Rally weekends where we camp at the club and have fun with horsey videos, practice and demos for show preparation and games.
ZONE GYMKHANAS, COMPETITIONS & CLINICS
Throughout the year, pony club members can attend and compete at various official and unofficial competitive events,
including gymkhanas, showjumping, horse sports days and more.

Each year, Kuranda Horse and Pony Club as well as other clubs in our region hold and annual gymkhana and competition days and our riders are often out competing on weekends at these events.

Special clinics are also arranged throughout the year with various clinicians and instructors with expertise in a particular discipline who would not ordinarily be accessible to members.

Riders are required to provide a completed Horse Health declaration at all events.

All participants at PCQ-affiliated events must comply with PCQ equipment and dress rules regarding saddlery, helmets, boots, spurs and other gear.
